Long nipple for connecting two threaded pipes and extending pipe length
1/2" Male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads for connecting to female threaded pipes
Brass for higher corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability
Operating temperatures range from -53 to 121 degrees C (-65 to 250 degrees F)
These fittings contain lead and are not allowed by federal law to be installed for potable water use in the U.S.A. and its territories.
The long nipple is a pipe fitting with male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on both ends for connecting and extending two pieces of female pipe. The long nipple is a longer version than the short, and is threaded on both ends with an expanse of plain unthreaded surface in the middle. It has male NPT threads for creating tighter seals than straight threads and is made from brass, which is more economical, and offers greater corrosion resistance than steel. Pipe fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. When purchasing pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness).
