About Dixon A713 Carbon Steel Pipe And Welding

This Dixon A71 series straight nipple is used for connecting or extending pipes going in the same direction. It has male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on one end (for connecting to female threaded pipes) and is straight (for welding) on the other end for connecting different types of pipe. It is made of carbon steel for tensile strength and hardness. The weld end creates tighter seals than threads and is grooved to allow removal of pipe sections for replacement, cleaning, and service. This fitting is suitable for use in air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam applications. Pipe fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. When purchasing pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size, and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness). Dixon Valve & Coupling Company manufactures pipe and hose fittings and accessories. The company, founded in 1916, is headquartered in Chestertown, MD.
