About 316/316L Forged Stainless Steel Pipe Fitting, Half
This half coupling socket weld is a class 3000 forged stainless steel 316/316L pipe fitting with a female socket weld connection on one end and an unthreaded end on the other for connecting and extending different types of pipe going in the same direction. The socket weld connection has an internal recess on the inside diameter to allow for a smooth bore and better fluid flow between pipes. The class 3000 fitting has been forged for durability in high pressure applications and is made from stainless steel 316/316L for corrosion resistance. Class is a standard relating to tolerance, construction, dimension, and wall thickness, but it is not a direct measurement of maximum working pressure. This fitting meets standards ASTM A182, ASME SA182, and ANSI B16.11 for quality assurance. Pipe fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries.
