An easy press on/off switch on the base will activate the LED lighting around the outside diameter of the mirror when you need it. Led's are lined around the mirror to distribute the light evenly. The HL1016NLD extends up to inches from the wall and the dual arms are easily moved around, while still being firm enough to hold for odd angles.
