Maine Street Bee was founded by Melissa Dupuis, owner and creator. As an organic gardener, Melissa spent many a summer's day nose-to-antenna with insects and pollinators that used to occupy a large presence in our environment. Melissa's passion for the environment has played a huge role in her life and was the inspiration for her business. Today, Melissa utilizes beekeeping for the creation of all of our 100% beeswax candles. As well as honey, numerous natural beeswax skincare products, bee gifts, and a dog paw wax packaged in a biodegradable push-up tube. Says Melissa, "I am committed to keeping harmful chemicals out of our products using only natural, organic and fair-trade ingredients, and plastic-free, compostable, recyclable packaging with zero negative impact on the environment." It's that simple. Please remember that all of our beeswax candles are poured by hand at our Maine studio, right here in the US.
