About Nelson's Tea, Sage (Salvia Officinalis) Cut
Common sage is an evergreen herb in the mint family. Although it is native to the Mediterranean, sage is now naturalized and widely cultivated throughout the world. The plant was commonly grown in monastery gardens in Medieval England and was an essential ingredient in the anti-plague formula known as Four Thieves Vinegar. For this reason, and because the plant’s genus name literally means “to save,” the herb was often referred to as Sage the Savior in the 17th century.
