About Burg Wachter ME/2 Lock Blocker For Furniture
How does it work? The tip of the ME/2 is hollow, allowing it to fit into the keyhole. Once the lock blocker is inserted into the keyhole you turn the key and the little tailpiece swings out into the lock. Now you can pull out the key and the keyhole is blocked. This helps since many pieces of furniture just have the same low security keys. You can prevent that everyone with a furniture key gets into your stuff, uses that expensive china or gets to important papers. A common misconception is that you can open the lock with the lock blocker. That is not the case. In order to open the furniture again, you have to remove the lock blocker with your secure key for the ME/2. Once the lock blocker is removed you can now use your standard key to open the desk or cabinet. If you need to open the cabinet all the time, you might want to consider switching out the lock. Ask us about some secure options for that as well at [email protected] Dimensions The entire lock is 3/4" long. The lock has to be inserted at least 1/4" in order to stick in the hole. It is normal for the lock to be protruding from the keyhole. It fits perfectly flush if the ME/2 can be inserted the full 3/4" length. (see application pictures) The hole in the front of the ME/2 to allow for the pin in the middle of the keyhole is also about 1/4" deep.The pin can be up to 9/64" in diameter. If it is any wider the ME/2 will not fit on top of it. It will fit most furniture locks with a pin in the middle (which requires the key to have a hole in the tip).
