About White Asparagus Seeds For Planting 30+ Non-GMO

A snow-white perennial that produces tasty spears for 10-25 years. Harvest of the 1st full crop takes place in the 4th year. Start seeds indoors or in a greenhouse 10-12 weeks before the last expected frost under bright lighting with soil temperature at 70-85°F. First, soak the seeds for a couple of hours in lukewarm water, then plant each seed ½-inch deep in sterile, fertile soil in individual 2-inch pots. They should sprout in about 2-8 weeks. After the last frost transplant outside 18 inches apart. In rows, set 3-6 inches apart. As the plant grows, cover the crowns with soil and keep them moist. Harvest only a few spears in the 3rd year so that you can harvest a full crop in the 4th year.
