The Old Farmer's Almanac Organic Cayenne Pepper Features

  • Capsicum Annuum / Long Slim Cayenne Pepper - Hot, zesty Long Slim Cayenne Peppers pack a bit more kick than traditional cayennes. They are fast-maturing with bushy plants that produce abundant peppers ideal for cooking and drying.

  • Hot, hotter or hottest? These peppers have a Scolville Heated Unit rating of 30-50 thousand so they pack a punch; but if you're looking for more heat, just leave them on the bush to ripen longer. Enjoy!

  • Packet Contents - Each 300 Milligram packet contains approximately 35 premium, open pollinated, non-GMO, heirloom, organic vegetable seeds. (See photos on this page of packet and contents.)

  • Freshly Packed - These seeds are packed for the current growing season and will provide high germination rates next year as well.

  • Premium Packaging - All seeds from The Old Farmer’s Almanac are packaged in individually styled packets ideal for gifts, storage or immediate use. Each packet displays the flower, vegetable, plant or herb variety on the front with instructions and plant facts on the back.

About The Old Farmer's Almanac Organic Cayenne Pepper

Peppers thrive in fertile, organically rich, well-drained soil with lots of sun and heat. Start 2-3 seeds per hole, indoors 4-6 weeks before the final spring frost or outdoors in warmer climates. After 6-8 weeks, harden outside and transplant the best seedlings to your garden or pots. Water regularly; but do not over-water. Peppers produce abundantly; and will benefit from staking and support as they become top-heavy. Snip ripe peppers off the bush with a bit of stem attached. For best results harvest peppers after they've turned red on the bush.
