Organic Lettuce Seeds Features

  • Lactuca Sativa: These finest quality, non-GMO, USDA Organic Buttercrunch Lettuce seeds produce vibrant, green heads of lettuce with mild, sweet, buttery flavored leaves. They’re the most popular of the Butterhead varieties.

  • For the Best Results: Buttercrunch Lettuce is very hardy, but will need extra shade and misting in hotter climates with the most sun. In warm climates it can be planted in the fall for a spring harvest.

  • Freshly Packed: These seeds are packed for the current growing season and will provide high germination rates next year as well.

  • Certified Organic: All Purely Organic Seeds are open pollinated, non-GMO (not genetically modified), heirloom, organic seeds. Each Purely Organic Seed Packet carries the USDA Organic Seal signifying that is has passed rigorous standards and been certified organic by a USDA Accredited agency.

  • Premium Packaging: All seeds from Purely Organic Products are packaged in individually styled packets ideal for gifts, storage or immediate use. Each packet displays the plant variety on the front with instructions and plant facts on the back.

About Organic Lettuce Seeds

Lettuce is a cool-weather crop that should be planted in the spring as soon as soil can be worked. Sow seeds sparingly about 1" apart, firming over the soil lightly to ensure germination. As plants grow, thin to 1 every 6". Overcrowding can cause leaves to have a bitter taste. While growing, keep the soil well watered. As they grow, harvest and enjoy soft, baby greens from the outside of the plant to allow inner leaves to flourish. Pick full head after 60-70 days, and before flowers appear, to ensure the lettuce doesn't become too mature.
