America's Original Sweet Corn - Golden Bantam is the heritage yellow sweet corn that won America's hearts. Harvest sweet corn at the milk stage, about 20 days after silks emerge. To test for ripeness, once silks begin browning, part the husk along the cob and poke a kernel with a fingernail. If the liquid is milky, then it is ready for picking. Sweet corn is still nutritious after this stage, but the flavor is not as sweet.
