Mature plants reach 3-4' wide by 3-6' tall and offer a semi-deciduous appearance in zone 6 gardens.
USDA ZONES: The Sunshine Ligustrum privet is hardy in zones 6-10. Once you have planted your Sunshine Ligustrum water deeply to settle. Make sure your soil is well draining as Ligustrum plants are easily susceptible to root rot. Water new plantings 2-3 times per week for the first growing season to help them establish deep root systems.
USES: The Sunshine Ligustrum is a perfect shrub for any landscape. They are drought and heat tolerant and live up to 30 years on average. Try planting in mass for a truly impressive display or use a row of yellow shrubs for a small topiary or hedge.

The Sunshine Ligustrum from the Southern Living Plant Collection has redefined the traditionally invasive Ligustrum/Privet into a sterile, non-invasive cultivar. This beautiful evergreen bush is most noted for its year-round vibrant yellow foliage, yet in early Spring, new growth emerges as a delicate lime-green that complements the Spring foliage colors characteristic of the season. Once summer is in full swing, the Sunshine lives up to its name as its golden leaves illuminate the landscape. The more sunlight, the better for this sun-loving plant that reflects that light back upon the landscape through its petite oval leaves. This Ligustrum proves itself to be incredibly versatile, as its compact, upright form makes a tremendous natural hedge that requires no pruning. However, the Sunshine also lends itself to pruning without skipping a beat and can be shaped into small topiaries that make for head-turning, unique container plants.
