About Harris Premium Orchid Potting Mix, Optimal Soil Mix

Harris Orchid Potting Soil contains heat treated Douglas fir bark, peat moss, pumice and perlite in an optimal ratio that is ideal for use with a variety of orchids, including Phalaenopsis, Cattleyas, Dendrobiums, Cymbidiums, Oncidiums, and all epiphytic orchids. Most orchids have roots that need more air space and better drainage than potting soil alone can provide. Orchids should have potting material that drains rapidly and at the same time retains moisture. For best results, repot orchids every 1-2 years. DIRECTIONS: Fill desired container about 1/3 full of blend Loosen plant and roots carefully from previous container Inspect and trim dead roots or leaves Place into new container Fill in remaining areas around roots with blend, being careful not to compact too tightly Water and drain as needed. Within 7-10 days after planting, begin your regular fertilizer program as needed or recommended. Orchids typically thrive in bright but indirect light - too much direct sunlight will scorch the leaves. A spot near and east- or west-facing window is ideal. Best for patios, windowsills or well-lit rooms. NOTE: Wash hands thoroughly after handling any soil medium. Gardening gloves are recommended. Dusts may be irritating. Use caution to not contact eyes directly. Store unused product in a dry place inaccessible to children and pets. INGREDIENTS: Douglas Fir bark, Sphagnum Peat Moss, Pumice, Perlite
