Feature. Hops is a fast-growing, vigorous grower. It is the new leaves that are golden. Older foliage fades in summer to chartreuse or light green.
USDA Hardiness Zone. Hop is a very vigorous vine grown in 5-8(USDA).
Planting time. Plant in spring after the last frost. Hops need a minimum of 120 frost-free days to flower and produce a good crop.
Sow. Put seeds in an equal amount of moist sand and refrigerate from one to three months at about 41 degrees F. After that, plant the seeds at 68 degrees F. for one to two months.
Sun. Hops produce their best color and more flowers if given full sun. You can grow it in full sun in northern climates or a touch of shade in the afternoon in the South.
