Scarification: Soak in hot tap water, let stand in water for 12 hours.

Fruit can be eaten raw or cooked. A nice taste, similar to an orange but slightly more acidic in nature. Allow the fruit to wrinkle and develop sweetness, it is then eaten raw, juiced, made into a syrup or used in sauces, cakes etc. The fruit is about 5cm in diameter. An edible oil is obtained from the seed.

Passion Fruit (Passiflora edulis) is a vine species of passion flower that is native to Paraguay , Brazil and northeastern Argentina. It is cultivated commercially in frost-free areas for its fruit and is widely grown in India , Sri Lanka , New Zealand , the Caribbean , Brazil, Colombia , Ecuador , Indonesia , Peru , California , Florida , Haiti , Hawaii , Australia , East Africa , Mexico , Israel and South Africa . The passion fruit is round to oval, yellow or dark purple at maturity, with a soft to firm, juicy interior filled with numerous seeds. The fruit can be grown for eating or for using its juice, which is often added to other fruit juices to enhance the aroma. For eating right out of the fruit, allow the fruit to wrinkle for a few days to raise up the fruits sugar levels and give it more flavor. Planting Passion Fruit: The best time to plant a passionfruit vine is in the spring season. Before planting, prepare your soil by incorporating compost to the planting area.
