Grow a garden filled with the Thumbelina mixed Zinnias, from freshly harvested Zinnia elegans seeds. Thumbelina mixture will produce dwarf plants that only grow to a mature height of roughly 8 to 12 inches tall. The blooms are semi-double and come in a range of colors, such as pink, purple, orange, yellow and white. The flowers themselves are only about an inch to an inch and a half in diameter. Thumbelina mixture will attract all sorts of beneficial insects to the garden, such as butterflies, bumblebees, honeybees and even hummingbirds as well. Grow this variety in small pots and containers, or even window boxes.
