Park Seed Giganteus Sunflower Seeds, Beloved by Features

  • If the birds gave awards to their favorite garden plants, Giganteus would be the wings-down winner! No Sunflower is more generous with the seeds--each 12-inch bloom contains a dinner-plate-sized central disk just stuffed with richness.

  • The bright yellow petals, arranged in a tight circle around the center, are brilliantly colored and very cheery, bringing in the butterflies!

  • Giganteus is the Sunflower that wins competitions, and its foot-wide blooms are absolutely staggering, especially when the 10-foot-tall plants appear in a long row against an outbuilding or other structure.

  • The essence of summer in the country, Giganteus is an oversized, generous joy for birds and humans alike! Sunflowers are the kings of the natural sunny summer garden, attracting butterflies and birds.

  • They're wonderfully easy to grow--just direct-sow the large seeds after all danger of frost. Not picky about soil type, they need direct sun. Thin the plants to 2 to 4 feet apart so that they can show off their foliage a bit as they grow. Pkt is 50 seeds.

About Park Seed Giganteus Sunflower Seeds, Beloved By

It's going to be another beautiful spring in your garden! We are delighted to celebrate 150 years of gardening friendship with you! "Your success and pleasure are more to Park than your money." The motto of our founder, George W. Park, has been the inspiration for Park Seed Company ever since its 1868 founding at the kitchen table of a 15-year-old boy who hoped to sell seeds from his own garden for a little pocket money. Mr. Park considered gardening a spiritual delight as well as a useful and pleasant activity. In early catalogs, he encouraged gardeners to form clubs and swap seeds, even printing nature poetry they had written. His catalogs united gardeners in remote rural areas, and by 1918, Park Seed Company had 180,000 customers. Today our gardeners number in the millions, yet we still adhere to Mr. Park's original motto. We may be connecting online through social media rather than handwritten letters, but the spirit and the result is the same: bringing the joys of gardening to as many people as possible.
