Outsidepride 1000 Seeds Perennial Achillea Features

  • Achillea millefolium, or Yarrow, is a hardy perennial that is a favorite of many gardeners. This variety, Summer Berries Mix, has flower clusters in a mix of colors: salmon, yellow, white, pink, cherry red and cream.

  • Grown in USDA zones 3 - 10, it grows easily from seed and has a long bloom season, summer through fall. Yarrow makes a great cut flower, and it dries well for use in dried arrangements. Reaches 18 - 24 inches in height.

  • Start Yarrow seed indoors 6 – 8 weeks before the last expected frost date. Press the seed into soil, lightly cover it and keep the seed moist. With a temperature of 68F, germination is usually in 21 days.

  • Grow Yarrow in full sun. It prefers well-drained soil, and it is usually deer resistant. Space plants 16 inches apart. In areas with long growing season, Yarrow can be directly started outdoors after danger of frost has passed. It takes 90 days from sowing to blooming.

  • Sowing Rate: 6 - 7 seeds per plant. Deadheading promotes continual bloom, and the clumps should be divided every 3 – 4 years to keep the plant healthy.
