Feature. Japanese Tree Lilac is an attractive, heavy-flowering lilac with fragrant blossoms. Its dark reddish-brown bark peels as the tree ages, creating visual appeal for any yard, especially in the winter.
Mature size. Japanese tree lilac grows 20 to 30 feet tall with a spread of 15 to 25 feet.
Easy to grow. Purple Lilac is cold hardy, easy to grow, and can tolerate most soil types. Lilac flowers are pleasantly fragrant and add beautiful lavender color to your property.
Attract Pollinators. The beautiful color and fragrance of the re-blooming lilac attracts bees and butterflies and will encourage them to visit often.
Germination. Soak the lilac seeds for a day, drain the seeds for five to 10 minutes the following day and chill the lilac seeds for two months. Sow one lilac seed at a 1/4-inch depth, warm the pots with a propagation mat set to 70 f, and keep the soil moist. Germination can take from one to two months.
