About Canterbury Bells (Cup And Saucer) Mix Seeds

A biennial flowering plant with strong stems that grows up to 20 to 40" (50-95 cm) in height. A pyramid-shaped stalks in white, blue, and lilac-pink color. The plant has double flowers. It grows very well in full sun and partial shade. Planting instructions: Sow the seeds indoors 6 to 10 weeks before the expected last date of spring frost. Sprinkle seeds on well-drained potting medium in pots or beds with a pH of 5.5 to 5.8. Do not cover the seeds. Covering Canterbury bells seeds will inhibit their germination — the point where they develop embryonic roots. Place the seeds in 10 to 100 foot (3-30 m) candles of light to aid germination. That is low light. Light on a window sill or coming through a glass patio door ranges from 100 to 5,000 foot (30-300) candles depending on latitude, time of year, and the direction the light comes from. Maintain a temperature between 65 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit (15-20 C). To achieve the best germination rate, maintain the seeds at an even temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit for four days. Keep the potting mix and seeds moist but not soggy. The seeds should germinate in 14 to 21 days.
