This is the best variety available for massive plants, massive heads, and massive harvests. Plants grow to 15' in heigth with single heads the size of dinner plates. Heat and drought resistant. 80 Days. Did you know that Sunflowers are native to North America? Russians embraced the plant due to its productivity in cold weather. Growing Instructions: Sunflowers need full sun! 6-8 hours is a minimum. Choose a well-drained location and loosen soil 24" deep in rows 20" wide. Add a quality compost at a fairly heavy rate (sunflowers are heavy feeders). Place seeds every 6" (1" deep) and thin to 24". Fertilize every week with an all-porpose fertilizer (not really necessary if you compost well). Make sure the plants receive 2+ gallons of water per week when they reach 3' in height.
