Rainbow Coleus seeds---- Suited for zones 3-10 Coleus prefer light to full shade and besides adding interest to your garden also make great plants for inside or outside pots. The Rainbow series produces a mixed of plants with leaves that are green, red, and purple.

You can start these early in trays or pots about 10 weeks before your last frost. You can also direct seed in your garden after your last frost. They prefer sunlight to germinate so till enriched garden soil 6" deep and scatter you seeds on the surface (the seeds are very tiny so we use the shaker method).

Cover thinly with sand or vermiculite, or in the garden a very light dusting of peat. They do not like late day heat so here in zone 7 we plant them where they get afternoon shade or in full shade.
