This FAA Part 107 handbook provides you with everything you need to know to pass the FAA Part 107 knowledge exam and get your commercial drone license in the United States. This guide is based on the FAA's published test guidelines but is easier to understand. The test is broken down into five overarching topics, each of which is covered in depth. This includes the Part 107 regulations, airspace, operations, weather, & loading and performance. The section on regulations covers Part 107 generally, requirements to get your remote pilot certificate, where you can and can’t fly, what you are required to have with you when flying, and getting Part 107 waivers and airspace authorizations. The section on airspace discusses classes of airspace surrounding airports (Classes B, C, D and E) as well as uncontrolled airspace (Class G). We will also discuss airspace restrictions such as temporary flight restrictions and warning areas. The section on operations flows well from the previous section on airspace. An important part of understanding airspace is how to recognize each type of airspace on a sectional. So this section deals more with aeronautical charts, types of airports, sources of airport information as well as latitude and longitude. The section on weather will discuss aviation weather tools such as METARS, PIREPS and SIGMETS. You will be able to read these weather tools and determine whether it is safe to fly in current or forecasted weather. Additionally, we will discuss basic weather concepts and how you can recognize the formation of bad weather in the aviation weather tools. The section on loading and performance deals with weight, stability and other load factors as well as emergency procedures, crew resource management, radio communication procedures, physiological factors in pilot performance and aeronautical decision-making and judgment. Additionally, there are several chapters that provide practical information on: Part 107 Test Taking Logistics & Tips Getting Part 107 Waivers & Authorizations Drone Registration Finally, each chapter includes multiple quiz questions and there are two full practice tests with answer keys.
