About Thermo Scientific Orion Star A214
The Thermo Scientific Orion Star A214 benchtop meter with fluoride kit displays pH, ISE (ion selective electrode), and mV readings plus temperature on the large, backlit LCD display for water, waste water, food and beverage, research, and QA/QC lab applications. Electrode status, time, date, sample ID, user ID, and calibration points are also displayed with the measurements. The meter is designed for ease of use and reduced training requirements, with clear screen prompts, updateable soft keys, and an interface that supports English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Chinese. A pre-programmed auto-read function is available to lock stable readings on the screen, with an indicator alert that signals when the reading is stable. The meter can also be set for timed readings that gather data at specific time intervals. Non-volatile memory holds up to 2,000 data points with time and date stamp. Updates for meter software and data analysis software are available for download. The fluoride ISE measures free aqueous solutions quickly and simply. This combination electrode eliminates the need for a separate reference electrode, which is helpful when sample volume is small. It has a free-flowing junction prevents electrode clogging for fast, stable readings, and that can easily be opened and flushed clean. The fluoride ISE has a waterproof Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connector and 1-meter/3.3-foot cable. pH calibration is available up to five points, with automatic recognition for USA/NIST and DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) buffers. ISE calibration is available up to five points, with advanced features that include timed end point, linear point-to-point, non-linear selectable auto-blank and low-concentration range stability. Errors can be fixed without a complete recalibration by using the calibration editing function. The meter has an IP 54 rating for limited ingress of dust and protection against water splashes. The device can be wall-mounted if table space is an issue. Meter input ports include BNC, reference pin, 8-Pin Mini-DIN, and stirrer port. Meter output ports include RS-232 and USB. The kit contains pH electrode, fluoride ISE, stainless steel probe for Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), stirrer probe, fluoride standards, ionic strength adjuster (ISA) solution, electrode arm, and probe holder. Certifications for the meter include CE, TÜV, and FCC Class A limits. The fluoride electrode is certified as approved by ASTM method, approval number ASTM D 1179.
