After a larger earthquake it is not unusual for people to report that they felt two separate "back to back" earthquakes. Hearing the unique sound of the Quake Alert will allow you to instantly realize that you are experiencing an earthquake and not hearing a loud truck or other loud "non-earthquake" sound.
