EASY TO DIGEST - Our powder is made with natural milk protein, so it’s highly digestible. Once mixed, it should be lapped from a bowl, not fed from a bottle. Use until ready to transition to solid food (7-8 weeks old).

Esbilac 2nd Step Puppy Weaning Food with natural milk protein provides a diet to introduce nursing puppies to solid food. This creamy transitional cereal for 4-8 week-old puppies is specially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of puppies being weaned from mother’s milk or bottle feeding. Natural milk protein, essential vitamins, minerals, and trace nutrients make it highly digestible, easy on puppies' tummies, and convenient to use. It also contains rice flour, coconut oil, canola oil, vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, riboflavin, thiamine and many other nutritious ingredients. It is specially made to follow Esbilac or mother's milk. Esbilac 2nd Step Puppy Weaning Food comes in a ready-to-mix powder. Directions for Mixing: Reconstitute powder by using 3 parts (a part is any measuring device, i.e. teaspoon, tablespoon or cup) liquid Esbilac or water to 1 part powder for the first few days. Determine the amount of Esbilac 2nd Step powder to be fed to the puppy at each feeding using the feeding guideline on the container. Offer only small amounts and remove the uneaten portion. Puppies should be fed 3 times per day. Weigh the puppies at least once a week to monitor weight gain. As puppies grow, decrease the amount of water mixed with powder until weaning food is an oatmeal consistency. Directions for Feeding: Esbilac 2nd Step should be lapped out of a bowl and not fed from a bottle. For best results, the product should be mixed with ready-to-feed liquid Esbilac or reconstituted powder Esbilac to give the consistency necessary to get good food consumption. If Esbilac is not available, water may be used. It is recommended that Esbilac 2nd Step be fed until puppies are 7 or 8 weeks old. All changes in diet should be made gradually over a period of one week.
