NAD+ is a key molecule involved in all aspects of metabolism, energy production in cells. NAD+ facilitates the normal flow of electrons in the electron transport chain in mitochondria where our cells make energy as ATP for example. But NAD+ also catalyzes normal levels of sirtuins, such as SIRT-1. Sirtuins interact with DNA and are actively involved in aging mechanisms. Liposomal NAD+ is the actual NAD+ molecule, not a precursor such as NMN which may or may not become NAD+ eventually.
