Something about Circut - 1.It's sturdier, but do not recommend for the cricut if you have even remotely intricate cuts 2.make sure it is the 1/16" instead of 1/8" 3.need 3-4 more passes after the 14 passes to really cut through this material
.Try to use the whole sheet, instead of cutting out smaller portions to cut. It shifting all over the place during the cutting process even if you tape it down 5.recommend a sheet of medium and coarse sandpaper to smooth the edges
Lightweight and Durable Basswood Plywood for Crafts Compared to balsa due to being lightweight, basswood offers more durability and density than balsa. It is more suitable for models and toys that require clean cuts and smoother surfaces. Basswood’s even wood grain and consistent texture accept stains and paints better for a smoother and more professional-looking finish. To ensure that your final piece is weatherproofed, you can use either outdoor or indoor wood sealants on these basswood sheets. And don’t worry, these basswood sheets don’t have sizable gaps and debris in-between layers, ensuring that you’ll have clean cuts without tear outs. Basswood also has smaller pores than balsa so it won’t absorb too much moisture and prevent plywood expansion and/or buckling. Basswood Sheets for Pyrography Basswood is one of the most popular wood types for pyrographers. One of its main selling points is its light color, smooth and minimal grain, and softness. Basswood’s softness makes it easier to work with - making different pyrography techniques easier even for beginners! Surface preparation is also easier as basswood has a smooth and even-grained surface. You may only need to sand basswood with 220 grit sandpaper. And unlike other types of wood, basswood does not produce sap or resin. To add to that, basswood is inexpensive and easy to source, perfect for beginner and seasoned pyrographers!
