Koda Farms mochiko blue star brand sweet rice flour is cold rolled milled on Koda Farms from their short grain "sticky" rice prized for its purity and slightly sweet taste since the 1940s. Traditionally made into "mochi" and many Asian specialty dishes and confections, mochiko is extremely versatile as a thickener for sauces and gravies and appropriate for applications in gluten-free diets. Mochiko blue star brand sweet rice flour is milled by the third generation of the Koda family whose farming experience dates from the 1910s. Committed to quality, the family manages all aspects including on site seed nurseries, cultivation, milling to higher standards than industry norms, and packaging under their unique brands. The rice from which this flour originated was nurtured with sustainable farming practices that support nesting and feeding habitat for shoreline birds and waterfowl (nature conservancy and Audubon society reviewed and approved).
