It can read cards bi-directionally and has a green light to alert you that the card was read correctly. Small and compact, the unit measures only 3.5” x 1” x 1”. Includes 5 foot long USB Cable. Conforms to ISO Standards. NO software required! USB Interface - Simply plug and play (Keyboard Emulation). When you swipe a card, the reader outputs the data as if you were typing on a keyboard. Just swipe the card and the data will flow to any document such as Word, Notepad, Excel etc. or any Web Page field or any compatible POS system. Perfect for laptops/notebooks, desktop computers, credit card processing, point of sale (POS), access control, ID verification, time and attendance terminals, etc. This type of reader is used by small to large businesses, educational institutions and governmental agencies. Please note this is a USB reader. It is not a wireless reader nor a writer. If using with a POS system, please contact your Merchant Account Provider to insure that a 3 track keyboard emulation, non-encrypted USB card reader will be compatible with their system. For use on MAC computers, you may need to configure the card reader to the keyboard.
