Dakota Alert M538-BS MURS Base StationThe Dakota Alert M538-BS MURS Base Station operates as a transceiver. It can transmit and receive messages from other MURS radio units. An example scenario, when the MURS Alert Transmitter (MAT) detects a person on site, the M538-BS MURS will receive the pre-programmed alert message. At the same time, the base station can transmit the alert signal to the M538-HT MURS Handheld Radio. If you don't want others to overhear the alert messages, you can always plug in an earphone on the side of the base station.The MURS Base Station operates on five channels with 38 private sub-channels. It even has a Lock feature that keeps others from changing channels or other features in the system. The M538-BS doesn't require an FCC license. You can communicate with other MURS units up to 2 miles away without worrying about the costly installation or FCC license. Of course, if you're outdoors without any post to hinder the wireless transmission, the operating range will be farther than 2 miles.At the back of the M538-BS are red and black push button terminals. These terminals are a Normally Open (NO) relay. When an alert signal from the MAT is received, the relay makes a closure for several seconds. The relay has 5A at 28V DC capacity.The Dakota Alert M538-BS MURS is only desk-mountable.
