20"W x 20"H is the size for the duct opening measurement only, and the actual front end outer dimensions are 21.75" width x 21.75" height. Please refer to the description below for instructions on how to measure a grille properly. Our grilles are made of high-quality rigid aluminum that is resistant to rust and can be easily cleaned. The rigid design features noise-free components and ensures easy unrestricted airflow for your HVAC system. To measure a grille, simply measure the size of the air duct/drywall opening. Do not measure the overall size of the register itself, only measure the "hole" in the wall/duct. Every grille has a front-end frame that will overlap at the wall joint. The total outer size of the grille is the listed size + 1.5". Please note that the louvers are 2" in depth, and the size of the mesh holes is 1/2". The width and height of the grille are represented by the first and second numbers, respectively. For example, if your hole is 20" wide by 14" tall, you should order a 20x14 grille. If your hole is 14" wide by 20" tall, you should order a 14x20 grille.
