His photograph “The Lightning Dragon” was published by different news agencies around the world and gained various awards in international photography competitions.Domcar Calinawan Lagto is a self-taught filmmaker, photojournalist, visual artist, layout and graphic designer, teacher, and surfer based in Nasugbu Batangas, Philippines, whose work is covered by surf, lifestyle, and news subjects. TAAL VOLCANO MANS’ LAND draws from his an unpublished documentary of the life story on the Volcano Island in Taal Batangas, Philippines captured five years before its eruption in 2020.With never-before-seen images and the stories behind them, Domcar crafts a narrative that combines the page-turning drama of an untold story and the immediacy and power of unforgettable photographs of the villagers that had been lived on the island amidst danger, and vanished by the wrath of the smallest but fiercely volcano in the world.
