About Palo Santo White Sage Pure Essential Oil Perfume
The Palo Santo tree, or “Bursera graveolens”, grows from the Yucatan Peninsula all the way down to Peru and Venezuela. In Spanish, the name translates to “holy wood”. The Bursera graveolens is in the same family as frankincense and myrrh, though palo santo oil comes from wood, not resin. In the country of Peru, the Palo Santo tree has long been used by shamans for the purpose of spiritual purification. Our organically crafted White Sage Essential Oil is steam distilled from the intensely aromatic leaves of the Salvia apiana plant, native to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico, found mainly in the coastal sage scrub habitat of Southern California and Baja California. Powerful, pungent, camphoraceous, the fragrance of the White Sage Oil will be familiar to all those who have used this herb for its renowned ceremonial and therapeutic benefits. White Sage (Salvia apiana) has been traditionally used to make smudge sticks and for ceremonial purposes and is widely used as a soapless shampoo and conditioning rinse by Southern California Indians. It is believed in some traditions to have its own very potent energy, which is able not only to clear negative energy but also to attract positive energy.
