About Burpee Lacinato Kale Seeds 500 Seeds & Red Russian

Burpee Lacinato Kale Seeds 500 seeds Also known as "Dinosaur" or "Tuscan Kale", this Italian heirloom dates back to the 18th century, & is an essential ingredient of Caldo Verde (green broth), a popular soup in Portugal. By whatever name, the sweeter, milder, blue-green, heavily crinkled strap leaves impart excellent flavor, especially harvested young & after first frost. Burpee Red Russian Kale Seeds 500 seeds This delicious grey-green Kale is pretty enough to plant among the flowers. Much larger than regular Kale (2-3' tall), the stems are purplish & the velvety, gray-green leaves are shaped like big oak leaves. The purple colors become richer after frost, when the flavor becomes sweeter. Surprisingly, the big leaves are very tender & delicious. Plants may be left outdoors all winter. Frost improves flavor.
