FAQs About KoolStone Rock Tumblers 1. Can you put regular rocks in a rock tumbler? You will want to avoid soft rocks as they might just fall apart when you add them to a rock tumbler and some really hard rocks might damage your tumbler. 2. How long does it take to polish rocks in a rock tumbler? For beginners, the answer can come as a bit of a shock as it could be one week or one month to tumble rocks to a polish that you are happy with. Patience is a virtue in this hobby. The end result can be worth the wait as they look great when they are finished. 3. If my belts broken, how can I do? Belts might break after a long time use. No worries, please feel free to r-ea-ch o-ut us to g-et the belts. 4. Why my rock tumbler is displaying an " E"? An “E” means that the barrel is overloaded. Simply turn off the machine by pressing the On/Off button, remove some of the rocks and/or water from the barrel, and turn on the machine again. Sometimes the machine will display an “E” if the barrel is not properly placed on the machine. Adjust the barrel on the machine and restart the machine. 5.What other items can you tumble? If you’ve found some coins then you can throw those in the rock tumbler. A rock tumbler will help clean it giving it a nice shine. Other than coins you can also place shells inside a rock tumbler. IMPORTANT TIPS: 1. Mind the Noise: Tumbling machines can be quite noisy. We recommended that you keep it in the garage so that you don't disturb your neighbors. 2. Don't wash grits down the drain! It will create a clog that is impervious to drain cleaner. Rinse the grits steps outside using a garden hose. 3. Use mineral oil for extra shine! If you want your finished stones to be really shiny, coat and polish the stones with mineral oil.
