Carolina Cookwood was among the first to produce pizza oven wood products for pizza ovens. Our 12-inch Pizza Oven Split is the perfect size for larger standalone ovens like Alfa. As pizza oven manufacturers saw the demand for tabletop/portable models, Carolina Cookwood adapted quickly and offered these 6 Inch Mini Pizza Oven Splits. Carolina Cookwood Outdoor Pizza Oven 6 Inch Mini Splits is a unique product in many respects. Carolina Cookwood's custom naturally cured drying process maintains key elements of the hardwood (sugars) inside the wood. While the exterior portion of the split is dry, allowing for fast lighting, the interior has a slightly higher moisture content producing hot coals that last longer, preserving the cooking heat within your oven and reducing the amount of wood used in each cook. Another benefit of natural aging is the classic wood-fired aroma. These same sugars within the wood are the source of that mild oak wood smoke flavor that gives you the classic artisan wood-burning pizza oven taste and smell. 6 Inch Mini Pizza Split hardwood pieces are perfect for most portable pizza ovens today. Each piece is typically 6 inches long and from .5 to 1.75 inches in width (See note below). Each box contains more than 750 cubic inches of small wood logs and weighs between 10 - 13 pounds. For the best results, leave the unused wood in the box in a dry environment. Air circulation is important. Keep several boxes on hand and ready for those impromptu pizza parties to please family and friends.
