This guide will show you how to grow Wheatgrass, Hard Red Winter. A grow tray with proper drainage is important, as is a growing medium that retains moisture. A good spray bottle and a few kelp fertilizers are essential to keep your wheatgrass healthy. For wheatgrass to thrive, it needs constant water misting. Growing wheatgrass in soil is not difficult, and requires minimal maintenance, but you need to prepare your growing medium properly. You can either use a pre-moisturized organic soil or regular dirt. To get the best results, moisturize the soil before you put in the seeds. Don't use too much water. Too much moisture can lead to mold and allergic reactions. Before you start the plant, sterilize the tray with bleach. You can stagger the trays so that they will grow at different times. Sprouting wheatgrass seeds takes about two weeks to sprout. To sprout them, place one cup of dried seeds in a seven to eight-inch jar with a little filtered room-temperature water. The seeds should be spread in a thick layer, one or two seeds deep. A spray bottle with small holes is necessary to water the seeds frequently. Place the pot in a warm location away from direct sunlight.
