DLI-600 ePAR METER: Designed to measure the newly defined 400-750 nm ePAR radiation range, which has been shown to have extended photosynthetically active properties. Also gives research-grade measurements of DLI and photoperiod. The meter takes spot measurements and records and displays daily light integral in mol·m-2·d-1 and photoperiod in 0.2 hours increments for up to 99 days.
ePAR/DLI/PHOTOPERIOD: Measuring and controlling the daily light integral (the total photosynthetic photons falling on a plant in a 24-hour period) and the hours of light a plant receives (photoperiod) is critical for optimizing plant health, triggering flowering, and inducing other plant morphology effects. ePPFD, DLI, and photoperiod data can be viewed onscreen or downloaded via USB-C for analysis.
RUGGED AND READY TO USE: Built tough and rated IP65 to withstand harsh and wet environments. Unit can be placed directly on any level surface or mounted by attaching to commonly available camera tripods, clamps, or stakes using the standard camera-sized ¼-20 threaded port on the bottom. Protective case, meter, soil stake, AAA batteries, USB-C cable, screwdriver, and QuickStart guide are included.
BUILT FOR SCIENTISTS AND SERIOUS GROWERS: Developed for use by the Apogee Instruments’ engineering team under the direction of world-renowned crop physiologist, Bruce Bugbee, PhD. Calibration is NIST traceable to accurately measure combined intensity of photons between 400 and 700 nm to give a single sunlight PAR reading within 5 % uncertainty. Unlike hobby-grade PAR meters that drift out of calibration quickly, our meter has a stable drift rate of less than 2% per year.
MADE IN THE USA: All meters are designed, built, and calibrated at our headquarters in Logan, Utah, USA. Apogee Instruments has been creating research-grade instruments for scientists and serious growers for over 25 years. All meters are backed by our industry leading four-year warranty and supported by our world-class, US-based customer support team.
Apogee's new DLI-600 meter is designed to measure photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) beyond the traditional 400–700 nm range. The DLI-600 measures the newly defined 400-750 nm ePAR radiation range, which has been shown to have extended photosynthetically active properties. In addition to measuring ePAR, the DLI-600 meter calculates daily light integral (DLI) and photoperiod. DLI refers to the total amount of PAR or ePAR incident on a plane in a 24-hour period, expressed in units of moles per square meter per day (mol m-2 d-1). Photoperiod is the total amount of time in which PAR or ePAR is incident on a plane during a 24-hour period and is expressed in units of hours (h). Both DLI and photoperiod influence plant growth and development, and they are often measured in greenhouses and growth chambers to aid in light management and decision making. The DLI-600 meter has two different screen modes: stored data and live view data. In the stored data screen, it shows the DLI measurement, photoperiod, and which day the data was collected (up to 99 days ago). The live view data screen displays a running average of ePPFD from the last 2.5 seconds. The DLI meters consist of a cast acrylic diffuser (filter), optical filter, photodiode, signal processing circuitry, and an LCD display mounted in an ASA plastic housing. DLI meters are designed for single or continuous measurements of PPFD or ePPFD; DLI; and photoperiod. The DLI meter uses a USB-C cable (included with the meter) to download the stored data as a CSV file to a computer.
