A canvas wood frame is used to construct a wooden stretcher used by artists to mount their canvases. They are traditionally a wooden framework support on which an artist fastens a piece of canvas. Questions & Answers How to choose a right canvas stretcher bars? Since our diy frames for canvas paintings thickness is 1.25 inch ,in order to wrap the canvas around the sides of the frame ,the rule of thumb for measuring canvas stretcher bars (or frames) is to minus 1.5 inches from each side of the canvas. This means that a canvas size is 36x40 inches and the actual canvas stretcher bars size is 33x37 inches. How to assemble the canvas stretcher bars? 1. Tiled oil painting, face down, back up. 2.The wood strips are tiled on the back of the oil painting, and the wood strips are placed on the outside of the edge line of the oil painting. Please pay attention to the alignment. If it is difficult, you can mark it with a pen first. 3.After the placement is complete, peel off the stickers one by one and paste them back to the original position.Don't worry if you can not get the corners perfect on the first try.You can remove and try multiple times. 4.Cut every corner of the painting and stick it back on the stick. raise two adjacent strips of wood to a vertical position and clamp the joint with U-shaped fittings.And so on, until the four corners are finished. 5.Finally, Every corner is supported by supporting fittings, and an oil painting is assembled.
