Stainless Steel 316 Reduced Hex Nipple Pipe Features

  • Resistance against corrosion and rust as this forged pipe reduced hex nipple fitting is made of stainless steel SS316 material.

  • Higher quality as it has higher strength to withstand higher pressure. The wall thickness is thicker. Can be used in 3000 and 6000 PSI setting.

  • Excellent performance in high pressure application as it has a working pressure up to 6000 PSI. Ideal for application where high pressure or extremely corrosive conditions exist.

  • NPT male threaded ends. Solid forged pipe reducing hex nipple fitting is made in accordance to ASME B16.11 standard. Also known as class 3000 and class 6000 threaded end fittings.

  • Reducer hex nipple connects two female pipe ends of different nominal bore schedule in a straight direction.

About Stainless Steel 316 Reduced Hex Nipple Pipe

Forged pipe fittings are used in heavy industries with high pressure and corrosive conditions. They also have a thicker wall. There is a marking on the collar portion of the fittings. The purpose of the marking is to ease identification and ensure smooth system operation. For example, it may include the fitting size, class pressure, and heat number. Reduced hex nipple is a threaded type fitting which connects two pipe ends with different diameters in a straight direction. It provides a straight connection between pipes to support a leak-free system up and smooth operation process. It is also a type of adapter. Hex nipple is particularly useful in connecting two female pipe ends together. Reduced hex nipple forged pipe fittings are made in accordance of ASME B16.11 standard. Class pressure of 3000 will have a 3M marking. It is smaller, lighter, thinner, and have a lower working pressure. Class pressure of 6000 will have a 6M marking. It is bigger, heavier, thicker, and have a higher working pressure. This reduced hex nipple can withstand up to 3000 or 6000 PSI working pressure. The material used is stainless steel SS316. The available connection is NPT threaded. Installing a forged pipe fitting depends on the connection type. This reduced hex nipple has connections of male NPT (tapered) thread with a hexagon nut body in the middle. The hexagon nut body of the hex nipple allows operators or users to easily tighten and loose the fitting using a wrench. For threaded connection, the male thread will be inserted into the female end. NPT is commonly used because a narrow thread makes better sealing. The threaded ends make it easy to assemble and disassemble during maintenance and installation.
