Made in Germany - A larger, more powerful version of the Vario 2000 Universal Axe, with a longer handle and a heavy 5-1/2 lb. head. This universal axe is capable of delivering incredible striking power. This axe is designed to handle heavy, difficult felling jobs. The curved, ergonomic handle creates excellent balance and minimizes fatigue. The Universal blade design will perform well as a cutting axe, but also makes an exceptional splitting axe for splitting firewood, rounds, and logs.

Patented Interchangeable Head Design: with C50 High Carbon Steel - 53-56 HRC - The Vario 2000 uses Helko Werk's patented axe design - a German engineered bolt-on fastening system that introduces incredible versatility and efficiency across the Vario product line. All Vario heads, handles, and fastening components are fully interchangeable and inter-compatible. The heads are assembled with bolts which are driven through the handle and secured by a butt-plate retainer cap.

About 1844 Helko Werk Germany Vario 2000 Heavy Universal
The Vario 2000 Heavy Universal axe is as big as they come, and the cutting workhorse of the Vario line. This serious working axe is best reserved for the heaviest and most difficult felling jobs. The size may be intimidating to newcomers, but the Heavy Universal is ergonomically balanced, and fully capable of clearing your property and heating your home (provided you have the stamina to put it to use). It's heavy 5.5 pound head (with parts) delivers incredible striking power in the hands of a controlled operator. The head design will cut like a felling axe, but has a wedge inclined blade that performs exceptionally well for splitting too. The Vario 2000 system is Helko Werk's patented axe design. All parts, heads, and handles are compatible with one another, and the screw system offers easy interchangeability. The head is assembled onto the handle with screws that are driven through the handle and are secured by a butt-plate retainer cap. The steel overstrike protector covers the assembly and offers protection to the handle. All parts are assembled with an allen wrench, included.
