About Blackwing Point Guard

The Blackwing Point Guard is a pencil cover designed to ensure that your Blackwing pencil gets to wherever you're going in one piece. Blackwing prides itself on making high quality drawing pencils for artists, writers and makers, and we understand the importance of keeping those pencil points sharp. With Blackwing's Point Guard pencil toppers, you won't have to re-sharpen dull or broken pencil tips every time you transport your pencils. Whether you transport pencils in your backpack, your pocket, or a pencil roll, the Blackwing Point Guard will prevent your pencil tips from breaking. These pencil caps have a semi-hexagonal shape that fits snugly over your Blackwing pencil point. This durable, machined aluminum cap is strong enough to protect the tips of your pencils, but won't add too much weight to your bag, pocket, or pencil roll. The Blackwing pencil guard is available in a variety of colors. Choose from matte black, bright gold, bright silver, or a mixed pack that contains one of each color. Each of these classic finishes features the Blackwing "B" logo etched on the end. The Blackwing Point Guard is perfect for artists, students, and anyone who appreciates a freshly sharpened pencil. Blackwing was first introduced by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company in the 1930's. Their cult following included John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones, who proudly used Blackwings to create Bugs Bunny and many other Looney Tunes characters. Due to cost cuts, they were discontinued in the 1990's. That didn't stop devotees from paying as much as $40 per pencil for unused stock. In 2010, we drew from nearly a century of experience to access the best materials in the world and bring Blackwing back for a new generation of writers, musicians, and others seeking a more natural existence.
