Since 1929, our family has grown Arabica coffee in the mountains of Jinotega, Nicaragua. Over the years, we have perfected our processes to ensure the finest specialty coffee is produced under sustainable farming practices. Our green coffee beans are exported directly to our Texas facility where they are maintained in Grain Pro bags in a temperature controlled environment. These unroasted (raw) green coffee beans are perfect for at-home coffee roasters. The variety pack includes two pounds each of two different varieties: (1) Caturra - This natural mutation of Bourbon is the benchmark Central American coffee from which all others are measured in the region. Well-known for its rich sweetness and gentle profile, it is a well-balanced, smooth coffee. Its sweetness is complimented by a distinctive citrus acidity and pleasant cacao notes. (2) Parainema - A large bean with a unique cup profile that is bright, balanced, smooth with unmistakable tropical fruit notes. Other highlights include caramel and vanilla. The coffee has a medium body with a creamy mouthfeel that lingers. Both of these beans come from our farm and the same processes were used for each. So as everything is equal in where and how they were grown, one can truly taste the differences between the varieties.
