The smartSpatulas are economical, disposable tools for transferring, collecting & handling chemical & biological materials. The double-ended design enables use as a spatula, spoon, scoop, scraper, stirring rod, or policeman. The hollow core minimizes thermal transfer. Virgin PP construction is resistant to dilute acids and bases. Autoclavable. The Antistatic micro features V-shaped sharpened tip ends; ideal for manipulating very small volumes. Standard spatulas feature a unique spatula/spoon end and a smaller scoop end. Macro smartSpatula is features a spatula/spoon and a clump-busting pick for use in larger containers. ECO-spatulas are produced with an additive that helps promote biodegradation in the PP resin. Spatulas produced using this additive were found to biodegrade an average of 29% in the first 586 days of testing. Biodegradation rates of ECO-spatulas were measured according to the ASTM D5511 test method. Tests were conducted using 48% solids content; solids content in naturally wetter landfills range from 55% to 65%, while the driest landfills may reach 93%. Actual biodegradation rates will vary in biologically-active landfills according the solids content, temperature, and moisture levels of the landfill. All spatulas meet standards for food contact applications. Sterile spatulas are ETO sterilized and packed 10 per sterile pouch, 10 pouches per pack.
