DESIGN----Dean stark apparatus,also called dean stark trap,distilling trap/reservoir,used to remove water from a reflux reaction in azeotropic distillation of organic chemistry.It is designed with a graduated reservoir with standard top joint at top and 2mm PTFE stopcock which is used to collect water from a reaction, the side arm tubing with a standard male joint at bottom supplies a path for the vapor from reaction flask.

SET UP----The dean stark trap usually works with a water-cooled reflux condenser (liebig condenser,coiled condenser,dimroth condenser),a reaction flask (round bottom flask or schlenk flask),and a separatory funnel together to finish the reflux and separation.
