Kahler's Hammershoi salt mills and pepper mills, made of porcelain and oak, are a bold mix of the natural and durable. The subtle furrows of the knob make the grinders easy to use and add an extra detail. The pepper mills are available in "Marble" (a lighter gray) and "Anthracite" (a darker gray). A "White" version is available for use as a salt mill. The mills have a classic look and can be used as everyday tableware or for a special occasion. Hans-Christian Bauer, a Norwegian-born industrial designer, designed the Hammershoi tableware series. He reinvented early 20th century ceramist Svend Hammershoi's famous grooved vases into practical and modern tableware. It is Kahler's mission to create accessible art for the people. Now a leading Scandinavian design brand, their roots go back to 1839 as a small Danish pottery producer.
