Quercetin is a flavonoid (meaning that it gives a plant its color) that has antioxidant properties. It also acts as a foundation flavonoid for many other types of flavonoids in that plant family. Flavonoids do not only give plants their color, but also give it to fruits and vegetables ad even flowers.
