HOW BOVEDA FOR SEASONING WORKS: When you season a wood humidifier box with Boveda 84 packs, you’re filling the environment inside with water vapor. To fully season a 100-count wood humidifier box, it needs about 100 grams of water. Each Size 60 Boveda 84 releases about 35 grams of moisture. So use one seasoning packet for every 25 TOTAL items your box can hold. Over 14 days, Boveda 84% RH will raise the moisture to about 65% RH—without disturbing the integrity or the geometry of the wood.
CHOOSE BOVEDA: Boveda's the only patented 2-way humidity control solution with 25 years of experience. Using saltwater in our humidity packs, we provide the fastest, most precise humidity control in the market. When you invest in premium rolls, season your Spanish cedar box with Boveda. Once you move your sticks back in, use Boveda packs to protect the flavor, aroma & character of your items, so each one gives you a slow, steady experience.
HOW TO USE: Remove the clear plastic overwrap before using. DO NOT cut or open the brown humidity packet. Place the Boveda 84% packs inside an EMPTY wooden humidifier box. Close the lid and don’t open the box for 14 days. After 14 days, open the box, remove the Boveda seasoning packs and discard them—they aren’t reusable. Move your items back into your seasoned Spanish cedar humidifier box. Add new Boveda 72% RH maintenance packs (sold separately). NEVER MIX the 84% with any other %RH.
WHO IS BOVEDA FOR: Season a new wood humidifier box or a new-to-you Spanish cedar heirloom. We recommend re-seasoning a wooden humidifier box one to two times a year, if you battle low RH and/or live in a dry climate or experience seasonal dryness. Move out your items and season with Boveda 84% RH. Boveda for Seasoning prevents the wood from robbing essential moisture from your items. Seasoning raises the wood’s moisture level so it’ll be in equilibrium with your hand-rolled premiums.
Easily season a wood humidor in just one-step with Boveda 84% RH. Nothing to measure, fill or spill. Improperly seasoning with distilled water can shock and permanently damage a wood humidor and its seal. Why risk a cracked, moldy or warped humidor? Skip seasoning a new wood humidor, and you’ll constantly battle low humidity levels that make for dry cigars and lousy smokes. Your goal is to help your humidor achieve 70% relative humidity (RH) to maintain an ideal environment for premium cigars. Just unwrap the Boveda 84% RH pack, place it in an EMPTY wood humidor, close the lid and leave it alone for 14 days. Boveda automatically gets to work gradually raising the moisture level. And precisely providing moisture directly to the cellular structure of the wood, so it doesn’t rob moisture from premium cigars. Creates a tighter seal for any desktop humidor or cabinet humidor. Season a new wood humidor with Boveda before you add cigars. And re-season a wood humidor 1-2 times per year. Use one (1) Large Boveda pack for every 25 TOTAL cigars your humidor can hold. Example: If you have a 100-cigar capacity humidor, use four (4) Large Boveda packs at once. Toss the Boveda Seasoning pack away when you’re done (it isn’t reusable) and replace with desired Boveda RH packs (65%, 69%, 72% or 75%). Note: Do not mix different Boveda RH levels within the same humidor. And do not use Boveda in the same humidor with other humidification products because they will fight against each other and reduce the efficiency of Boveda.
