The Sprinter Gatorskin Tubular Tire inherits the best qualities of the highly popular Ultra GatorSkin road tire, namely the durable carbon black tread mixture, the effective puncture protection breaker layer, and the DuraSkin® anti-cut fabric. The Sprinter GatorSkin itself features the typical comfortable and light feel of a tubular tire. The professional riders use a similar combination in their tires for the Paris - Roubaix road race and other equipment destroying classics in the springtime. If you want to get the miles in, but your streets aren't covered with the finest tarmac, then this is your tubular. The Black Chili material incorporates rubber compound particles roughly ten times smaller (10nm in diameter, otherwise known as 0.00000001m) than what is typically used in bicycle tires. This creates a denser rubber, without adding more material. Denser rubber increases a tire's ability to conform (grip) to the road, while also increasing durability.
